Private Home Care & Medical Alert Bracelets
Discover how our bracelets can help your senior loved one stay safe at all times
Falls and medical emergencies are constantly present risks for seniors who live independently. Even if your mom or dad receives private home care or assistance from a family member, emergencies can still occur when they are alone. Comfort Keepers offers various medical and safety solutions that can enhance safety in your loved one’s home and give your family peace of mind. With our Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), your loved one can immediately call for help should an emergency occur. Now, let’s see how these sophisticated systems work.
PERS is comprised of two devices, a tabletop base console that connects to any phone line and a medical alert transmitter that comes in the form of a bracelet or necklace. In this guide, private home care experts will bring your attention to the properties and benefits of medical alert bracelets.
A medical alert bracelet is similar in size and design to a wristwatch. Many seniors, especially gents, opt for medical alert bracelets as they are a convenient alternative to the traditional necklace or pendant. The device is connected to PERS console and features a large, clearly visible button. Should your senior mom or dad experience any kind of emergency, all they have to do is press the SOS button on the bracelet. This will immediately activate the console and send an alarm signal to our Central Monitoring Station, which operates 24/7.
Once activated, the console allows for two-way communication between an emergency operator at the Central Monitoring Station and your senior loved one. The operator will assess the nature of your loved one’s emergency and promptly notify appropriate services. Our operators can contact people from your parent’s emergency responder list, as well as the ambulance, fire department or a private home care provider. Our comforting, friendly team member will stay on the line with your senior mom or dad until someone shows up at their home.
Several versions of PERS are available, each of them with different configurations and features. If you’d like to find out more about the specifics of particular models, call our Twin Falls, ID, office today at (208) 215-7084, and ask for a free in-home presentation of our safety products. Our friendly client care coordinators will visit your loved one’s home, assess their safety needs, and demonstrate how these products can help them stay safe. If you are interested, we can also develop a customized private home care plan that can help your parent boost their independence. Comfort Keepers are here to help!
