Your senior loved one's home may be their favorite place in the world, but with age, it may also become full of potential dangers, such as fall and trip hazards. As falls are one of the biggest safety concerns in seniors, it is important to take as many preventative measures as possible to reduce the risk of falling, but it is also a good idea to have a plan in case a fall does occur.
With the safety and well-being of your loved one in mind, Comfort Keepers care at home services have developed our very own line of Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), which allow seniors to call for help in case of an emergency, accident or if they fear for their health or safety for any reason whatsoever.
The system consists of two devices – one is a small, tabletop PERS console and the other is an accessorized transmitter, available as a bracelet or a necklace. The console connects to a cellular or landline and features a high-volume speakerphone. Both the console unit and the transmitting device are equipped with wireless communication and feature a large, clearly visible SOS button. In the event of an emergency, your senior mom or dad only needs to press that SOS button, either on their console or bracelet/necklace.
Once activated, PERS immediately sends an alert signal to SafetyChoice Centralized Monitoring Station, staffed 24/7. A member of our care at home team will respond within seconds after the transmission and speak with your loved one to determine the nature of their distress call.
After assessing your senior mom or dad’s situation, our emergency care at home operator will notify appropriate emergency services and/or inform a designated family member about the problem. What’s more, our operation will stay on the line with your parent until help arrives at their house.
In addition to different versions of PERS, we offer a selection of monitoring and safety products such as medication dispensers, window and door alarms, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, bedside pressure mats, and motion detectors.
